Hoping to start a thread where west coast folks here (and anyone actually) can discuss their experiences with the current wild fires impacting our region?

I'm in Clackamas country (Oregon) and this whole place looks very apocalyptic. As of today, it's estimated almost 1 million acres has been torched. I'm currently on evacuation level 2 but over 500K people are currently on evacuation level 3 and displaced from their homes right now.

Hey there! We are in the LA area (Santa Monica) and besides the fact that it has been overcast with smoke, ash is all over everything and the air quality is very poor, we have been spared. We're staying inside as much as possible because it's just awful to breathe outside. However I have friends in the Bay Area and the pics they share on Facebook are apocalyptic. :( Stay safe.

We are in northern CA and are surrounded by the fires and smoke. It is scary but we are safe and so is my whole family who lives 2 hours west of us. *knocks on wood* Their air quality index was at 393 yesterday. We had one that was about 12 miles north of us the other week and that was absolutely terrifying, but it’s contained and out now.

Because of how prevailing winds work, wildfires that aren't actually in San Diego county don't tend to have much direct effect on things here, and even the Valley Fire (which was only 35 or so miles away) only caused a few alerts on our phones and some smoky air (usually not bad with that, either).
