Multiple Citizenship Interviews

My husband had his first citizenship interview back in 2017. After 3 years of waiting he is invited for the second interview. Is it normal?

We need more info? What was the outcome of the first interview? They just told him to wait? Why?

There was no decision. It was not granted and it was not denied.

What did the interview letter say? If it didn't say much,  I would just say 1) prepare again for the test, 2) review the submitted application, 3) bring all updated documents that you can think of and 4) accompany your spouse that day, even it means staying outside the building the whole time.

 

Did you ask for help from anywhere else, Congressman, Senator etc, before you received the second interview letter? Three years is too long to wait patiently for a decision.

If no decision was made, what is his current status? Does he have a valid greencard or other visa? Or is he out of status?

Agree that 3 years is exceptionally long to wait. Is there some specific reason why this might be taking so long? Does he have ties to other governments/militaries or things that might make them suspicious?

I looked at her old posts...it seems her husband had a very lengthy AP back in Moscow. I think he must have some government connection (or past government connection) or did work that merited having such a long AP. Of course he was eventually approved, but a GC is not citizenship. OP didn't reveal what the lengthy AP was all about, but I suspect whatever caused the citizenship delay is related.

Same. but I feel like the proper way to 'honor' such questions is to reply in the logical manner you'd expect considering the wealth of context.
