Is it a "custom" to scam, rip others off, push people, cut in line, etc...? These are not "Customs" there are character flaws (with the notable exception of standing so close to someone you might as well be trying to make love to them lol, that's just societal in some places) However, NONE of these thing need to be or should be allowed, if the other person does not want to allow it.

Saying that people should be allowed to do what ever they want to you and are accustomed to doing to others while in their country no matter the action is a we bit far fetched and calling them "customs" is really stretching it.

I can say I have never been cut in front of a line or even pushed, only been attempted to get ripped off once by a cab driver who never reset his meter when I got in it, I noticed it and asked him to reset it and there was no problem. I have had people very close behind me in a line, but that don't bother me. what I have noticed in the Philippines is if you have a friendly, respectful nature, people are respectful back to you. I have also heard stories of foreigners who have the "Messiah" complex, usually find all the trouble they want.

Apparently you haven't spent much time there

It sometimes comical over there to watch people cut in line

When I am there , they constantly try to over charge me on everything (because I am American). But as for the push around part? I am 6'1" and around 280 pounds, so "pushing" doesn't work so well on me.

But actually never had anyone other that a couple local teenage boys say anything negative to me.

In the market I stand away from my wife or her sister while they haggle prices then wait for them to tell me how much and then I will step up and pay.
