Just wanted to check, we aren't able to schedule our medical until we have a visa appointment, correct?

Applying For a K1 visa, and am on the waitlist for an appointment

Depending on your city and the clinic they will schedule you without your appointment but they will also tell you about 10 times before you are booked that they recommend not doing it till you have an appointment date as the visa will only be issued with 6 months validity from the date of the medical... *NOTE* there was something I read the other day which said that medical exams would be extended 1 month in this pandemic...however it still is 7 months then from the date of the medical.... so say you got your medical today but didn't have your visa interview till December 27th, then your visa would have an expiration date of January 27th regardless of the fact that you had only interviewed a month before that..... it just gives you less time to get to the USA upon an issued visa...

In Sweden you can schedule your medical just fine whenever you want to. You just need to have your case number from NVC on the day of the medical exam, not needed to schedule the appointment. I just don't see a reason to do it far in advance even if you can, as the previous poster mentioned the medical has an expiration date. The visa expiration date is tied to it.

I emailed the clinics and they said I to wait for the appointment date. When was your CEAC status ready?
