We filed AOS a month ago with I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765, I-864, & I-944, and paid $1760. Got a rejection letter in the mail saying the I-765 form is outdated (that one's on me) and "the payment amount is incorrect, or has not been provided." But I thought if you're filing I-765 together with I-485 as part of AOS, there isn't a separate fee?

 

I filed an I-765 a few years ago for my F-1 OPT, but since that was under a totally different category, my I-765 this time is still considered an application for an initial EAD, correct? Has anyone had the same issue?

The I-485 + biometrics s $1225.

The I-130 is $535.

I-765/I-131/etc. are $0 here.

 

Yes, it's an initial EAD under that category.

The category should be (c)(9). If that was incorrect, that may also be the reason for saying the fee is incorrect.

 

If only the I-765 was rejected, you can refile it and attach the I-485's NOA1 (receipt notice) in lieu of payment.

Hi! Just saw this notice on I-765 page. I was planning to send out the AOS package out tomorrow. 

 

For I-765, does it mean that I need to use the form postmarked Aug 25 2020 then. 

 

Does it mean that I need to get biometrics by myself? And attach it with the form too?

Also wondering the same thing. This means we're paying for two biometrics in the same AoS packet?

1) The notice is all about an EAD via asylum.

2) New forms do not mean fees change. The I-765 web page states what categories require a separate biometrics fee. (c)(9) is not one of them.

 

Note that when the next fee changes start in October, (c)(9) will require a filing fee. But if you file before the new fee structures go into effect, then there is no additional fee for the I-765.

oh man... what did i just do? i sent my package yesterday (24th) but fedex told me it won't ship until today (25th), and it will arrive tomorrow (26th). so i guess i'm screwed. i'm c9 but i think i used the old form.

 

if 765 gets rejected, does that reject the entire 485 application?
