September 2020 - AOS Filers
lunajo replied to Sarge2155's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Hey guys, After months of anxious waiting, I finally received Form I-797C NOA for the biometrics appointment!!!! My AOS package was mailed out on Sep 1, 2020. Be patient and wait... but just want to share that you can call USCIS Hotline: 800-375-5283 to check with the agents on your case. Hang in there! -
Stimulus Checks for non US Citizen Spouse
lunajo replied to lunajo's topic in Tax & Finances During US Immigration
I am currently awaiting for the next steps of my AOS... and have not receive my EAD and AP. I am wondering whether I can still apply for ITIN and for the stimulus checks. -
Hi all! I am writing in reference to this piece of news: https://www.cnet.com/personal-finance/sorry-not-everyone-will-qualify-for-the-second-stimulus-payment-even-if-they-got-the-first-one/ I am a foreigner who is legally married to a US citizen. We submitted the Adjustment of Status application in Sep 2020 and we are currently waiting for the next steps of the process. Based on my current status, I would like to check whether I am eligible for the 2nd round of the stimulus check. If so, do I need to submit Form W-7 for a ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number)? Appreciate any feedback and advice on this. Thanks!

I-765 filing fee?
lunajo replied to griffith22's topic in Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas
Hi! Just saw this notice on I-765 page. I was planning to send out the AOS package out tomorrow. For I-765, does it mean that I need to use the form postmarked Aug 25 2020 then. Does it mean that I need to get biometrics by myself? And attach it with the form too? -
My ESTA expires 7 September 2020. My partner and I are planning to get a marriage certificate in the week of 24 August, and to submit the paperwork in the same week (we will prepare the docs in the meantime). Do you think that will give us enough time to get our first notification that our application is received, so that I can continue to stay in the US? We can also get the marriage cert this week, if it helps in the timeline... but sending the paperwork in week of 24 Aug is preferred.

Not sure if anyone will know the answer to this: I am currently in the US already with my fiance with is US citizen. We are planning to get married and start the AOS process. If I submit I-130 form online and get the receipt number/ NOA1, does that mean that my application has been accepted and that I can stay in US to complete the AOS process?
