I am submitting documents for my husbands CR-1 visa. The internal Passport is required but I am not sure what category it falls under. The DOS website shows it to be under ID, but the only options available when I go to submit it are "Passport Biographic Page," or "Other". Anybody know what I should do?

Gotcha. Maybe pick the “proof of residency or citizenship” option or something like that. If you think it’s not a good fit, use “other” and under comment write the actual name of the document :)

You could also ask for your post to be moved into the regional sub forum for Russia as you might get the best advise there.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I am still wondering though if it would be dangerous to include it twice when I submit everything?.. just to make sure that there is at last one correct..

Not sure if that would be a matter of danger.

Why do you want to submit it twice? You should upload only the passport biographic page under passport biographic page.

The issue is not the international passport. The issue is that I am not sure what category to choose for the internal passport, in other words, Russian ID, which I would submit as an additional document, since it is only required for Russian citizens. And because I am not sure of what category to pick, and it seems nobody in any of the threads I posted in can tell me, I am considering attaching it multiple times and choosing a different category each time. That way, at least one has to be accepted... maybe it is wrong to do this? I don't know

Yeah doesn’t sound right. Just attach it once :)

I would attach the document & properly label the document type with a letter, but you can do what you’ve suggested as well.

I suggested 2 options, attaching the document once and guessing the category, or attaching it twice with both categories that I think it might be. Which suggestion were you referring to?

you are at the NVC stage, correct?

I have not seen the requirement for "internal" passport. We have submitted passport for international travel and it worked just fine. The bio page is the one with the picture. just reminding

The internal passport is a requirement for Russian citizens. It is stated on the DOS website. Therefore, I am supposed to attach it as an additional document
