I thought I'd share my experience for the Quebec-born visa seekers, as I found very little info on the matter - I completed my NVC doc for IR1 visa on Sept 25th and got a reply at the end of December; my birth certificate and marriage certificate were rejected with the following somehwat imprecise message: Please replace this with an acceptable marriage certificate from a correct issuing authority. Please use our Document Finder at https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines. As per the link, Quebec folks need to submit a "Certified copy of an act" from the Directeur de l'État Civil, which is what I had provided. Because the NVC msg is so imprecise, there's no way to know what was the issue with the docs, or if it's a NVC mistake. I called the NVC line and after two hours of hold, the gentleman said he could not see any issue with the docs, and that I needed to resubmit the exact same docs with a explanatory note. The docs are then put at the back of the NVC queue, which means that they will not be reviewed for another 3 months. I escalated to his superior and sent an email using "Ask NVC", but the response delays are about 6 weeks for both. All that to say, if NVC makes an error on those QC docs - which seems to be the case here - applicants seem to have no recourse. Applicants just go back to the end of the line. Especially frustrating if there is indeed something wrong with the docs, which would mean I'd have to wait 3 months to get that feedback and another 3 months to correct, for a total of *drumroll* 9 months in the NVC queue. Seems extremely unproductive for both NVC and applicants, but hey, wouldn't be the first odd process in all this madness.

I'm an Italian citizen and my wife is an American citizen. I'm in the process of applying for the CR1 visa through the consulate in Naples, Italy. Our I-130 was approved earlier this month and now I'm in the process of filling out the DS-260 and obtaining the required documents. I have a question regarding the birth certificate requirements. On the "Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants" it says that I need to obtain the birth certificate of "each person named in the application." Does anyone happen to know if this includes the birth certificates of my parents (since I am asked to provide their information in the "family" section of the DS-260)? Thank you!

My daughter is immigrating, and she is still in High School. She has not finished High School yet. On the DS 260 Visa Application on CEAC, for this question: "Have you attended any educational institutions at a secondary level or above?" ...So my question is: do I put yes or no? If yes, then what do I put as the end date, since she's still attending school?

Hi all, for all people needing help with this topic I have read that you could add like 3 or 4 max. write 3 of the 4 and in the 4rth one write the month and the year you turned 16 in . You will start by the first one writing the address before your current address then, the next one , then the 3rd one and in the 4rth one write from the year and month you turned 16 in . Example: you were born in February 1980 . you will right from FEB 1996 to the address of the 3rd one . for example : from feb 1996 to 2010 .second one 2010 to 2015 and the third one from 2015 to 2018 and from 2018 to your current address save your work so it doesn't make a gap and then come back and so on till you finish all your addresses . if you didn't understand pls don't hesitate to text me in private.

I am filling out the DS-260 (F41 Visa Class) for my sister, her spouse and her child who live in another country. My sister's child is going to turn 21 in about 7 months. By this time, I will turn in the Visa application and the necessary documents. We waited 14 years to have this I-130 petition approved, and I would hate to have any issues because of this. So, will there be any issues to the case because of his my sister's child's age?

I’ve been having problems with signing and submitting our DS 260. Every time I click on the button, it takes me to the sign in page, and when I sign in, I am taken to the summary/home page. I was able to submit the i-864. I don’t know if this will solve the issue, but is there a way for me to delete the saved DS 260 and start over?
