It's so disheartening to see people after us getting approved (even though I'm truly happy for them), but even worse than that, it just seems that each week there is almost no progress lately. I just want to see some February and March people getting approved...like 2-3 per day would be oustanding. I'm halfway tempted to try to get hired temporarily as an adjudicator just so I know some work will get done! lol

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

There are many explanations on the forums of how to determine a touch. Simply, when you get your NOA1, you create an account on the USCIS website. Add your case to your online portoflio. When you see that the last update date has changed on your case you know someone somewhere for some reason touched your file and scanned the bar code. The case status does not necessarily change (and thus you don't get an email for it). Thats all a touch is.

I created an account on their web site and added our case to portfolio. I already knew that i can get an idea from their web site but i see some cases were "touched" already and it seemed kind of weird to me since i haven't got any updates yet. Anyways it is all clear now. Thank you.

BahamaMama, this thread is about K3 visas, not K1 visas!

But I think on a K1 visa, you can only use it once, so you would not be able to travel outside the USA once you used that visa to enter or you could not get back in! You would need to complete your AOS first, if my memory is correct, before you could leave the USA and come back.

You can also apply for Advanced Parole after you have submitted the docs for AOS. This will allow him to travel before getting his GC (while the AOS is being processed, so if you are planning a late honey moon, AP would do. Getting AP is not exactly quick, as in the week after the wedding for the honeymoon.

did any march filers receive their approval for either of their petitions this week??????

Finally I got my I-129F approved too. I got an email saying approval letter was sent on July 3, but they didn't email me until satureday!!! Before reading this email I thought My I-130 was forwarded to National visa center as since Friday night the ASR saying the EAC# is entered in to the system and a case number DHK200768**** was assigned. Now that I know that my I-129F was also approved on the same day I am confused whether they will send only I-129F helding the I-130 or not. I really don't care, all I want is: "Her to be here, as soon as possible". If I-129F is forwarded then it should go to Bangladesh today.... I called the NVC this morning but it is so crowded and telling me call back after 6pm eastern time...Consolemaster... if you are still reading this post while travelling....What's going on with your K3 process... what else you had to do after you got approved??? is there any shortcut like James' shortcut for K3???
