Apperntly, it's illegal to shoot them.

06/01/2009- Received Biometrics Letter

There is not much you can do about them. We used to have one that made the sound of a ringing phone. When I was outside it sounded just like our phone was ringing! You might try an air horn to scare it away.

He'd probably start sounding like an air horn. Haha. I've taught him to whistle so he sounds like me. He's been at it for hours now.

You might try getting a plastic replica of an owl and nail it somewhere prominent.

Smaller birds are afraid of them, even tho an owl is a bird itself. :thumbs:

Aren't they annoying??!! They will trill all night on occassion. They are very territorial and fight with each other all the time. Their young, are like them, only bigger and fatter and squeal constantly. They can imitate a dog barking and a police siren. I've never found a way to get rid of them. They do fly away when grackles come around though! But they're just as annoying! :wacko:

I want to see (and hear) a mockingbird now, after reading this! They sound very cool indeed.

Oh, and I love hawks!! Not so sure I'd want to be up close to one, but am forever admiring them from a distance... not used to seeing such impressive birds, they're amazing!
