Do you really? I've never thought of taking that route. I've only ever done direct New York to Moscow or through Frankfurt to saint Petersburg

My wife is from Krasnoyarsk, and we always like to minimize flights and avoid the US East coast airports and Moscow.  There are some direct flights between Beijing and Krasnoyarsk, and since there are daily flights between Detroit and Beijing, it was a little easier.  The layovers can be long ~12 hrs, but we usually get a hotel.  Recently we took a different route Detroit to Seoul to Novosibirsk to Krasnoyarsk which i actually like as I like the ROK better than China.  I am hoping those routes will be Re-established when things calm down.  If you decide to go that route you will have to work it out yourself since the code sharing is sketchy.  We usually fly S7 from Beijing or Seoul, but I heard Aeroflot was opening a flight between Beijing and Krasnoyarsk.

Yeah my ultimate destination is novosibirsk if possible. I hope they do open up more flights soon. Thank you!

Then you should research S7 from Seoul to Novosibirsk. According to their website flights may resume October 31st, but that remains to be seen.  If you have easy access to DFW, there are daily flights to Seoul (or will be) on American.  The only hitch is S7 does not fly Seoul to Novosibirsk daily, so you need to make sure the dates are correct, and the layover in Seoul is closer to 16 hrs at least with the Detroit to Seoul Delta flight, but there are hotels very close to the airport and Incheon airport is in my opinion, one of the best airports in the world.
