I am posting this to help someone out there searching for an I-824

petition or follow to join route so a family member can join their petitioner in america. This petition can be used to join family in the US if the couple got married before the petitioner gained or obtained his greencard visa instead of I-130. So far this is my timeline:

I-824 filing: December 3,2019

PD: December 13, 2019

NOA 1 received: December 17, 2019

Approval notification:  March 20, 2020

NOA 2 received: March 23, 2020

NVC received approval from uscis: April 27,2020

NVC was contacted: April 29, 2020 and informed petitioner that Welcome Letter is coming and they gave the invoice and case number.

Thanks,

We have similar timelines.  I received NVC notice in early April.  I am on hold as I just realized my children's passports expire in May.  So I have to renew their passports before I can complete DS-260.  I have already paid all the fees.

@MitchEdi @Pinkrlion this is great we all seem to be on the same route. I just sent the other documents,  and I asked about I864w because its nolonger on the website and the lady told me I do not need it I just needed to send the other documents by mail because I do not have an option of electronic. So i sent it and am waiting to see if they will request for the Affidavit of support.

Is that why my letter came with a checklist, so that I can mail it in?

NVC informed me that my PD date was current so when I was on approved on March 11th, they sent everything and set-up acct.  I have completed everything except DS-260 due to passport expiring.

hi, first post here as well.

I have filed an I-824 for my spouse and I received the approval notice on April 8th.
As of today, May 14th, NVC has not received it yet - I kept calling them every week.

Is this normal? What should I do? Just wait a little more or contact USCIS?

Thanks!

They won't set-up your NVC account until priority date is current.  Usually it takes about 4 -6 weeks for account to be issued Case Number and IIN

Yes its normal, took mine 6 weeks for my approval to be received by NVC. Then I received an emal from NVC attorney informing me that they received it, with that email, the instructions on what to do next.
