"However, RaTG13 was sampled from a different province of China (Yunnan) to where COVID-19 first appeared and the level of genome sequence divergence between SARS-CoV-2 and RaTG13 is equivalent to an average of 50 years (and at least 20 years) of evolutionary change."

Who is saying this virus was fabricated in a lab?  Don’t labs like the one in China study naturally occurring viruses?  Isn’t it possible that a lab worker could have accidentally released a naturally occurring virus?

    Well someone on here has started a couple of topics about the virus being "man made" and linked to articles. I believe you posted in one of them.

Not me, but good try.  I did post an article theorizing it was released from the lab, and not the wet market, but not necessarily a manmade virus.  Are you saying that was not possible?

Why is a naturally occurring event (as has been happening for thousands of years) not possible?

Didn’t say it could not have happened that way.  Just pointing out an alternative source and given the dishonesty of the CCP, who knows.

made in a lab - nope.  not buying that.  escaped from a lab, that's possible.

    No, I wasn't saying you claimed it was man made, I said you posted in the topic. So I'm saying you should have been aware there was such a topic,  which means when you asked "who is saying this virus is fabricated?" in this current topic, you already had the answer.

Sure, I was or am certainly aware that some may think it was manmade.  The interesting thing is back then, the media was essentially labeling anyone who suggested the virus may have originated in the lab as crackpots.  I know there might have been some suggesting a fabricated origin to the virus, but most were suggesting a potential or deliberate escape from the lab.  Even though I do not trust the CCP, I do tend to think if it did come from the lab, it was accidental, or carelessness.

    That was just an attempt at science humor. It's actually an image from a research paper on the evolution of the SARS-COV-2 genome. Would you like the link? I have it on my laptop. It's an interesting read.

Nah, I'm not much on reading medical details of flus and viruses and such.  Pretty dry stuff, and doesn't really help me stay healthy.  But thanks for the offer.
