Hello Everyone,

 

I filed April 15, 2020 and still did not get any update. I've been waiting for biometrics schedule and I sent them a message inquiring about it and this is their reply: 

 

I was wondering what does this mean? I do not need to do a biometrics? 

 

"Recently you called to inform USCIS that you have not received a biometrics appointment letter. After checking our system, your biometrics are currently still valid and you will not be scheduled again at this time."

Sounds to me like they will reuse your biometrics. Where did you get that message, in your inbox? That's interesting that they would contact you after you called.

Got another canned response in my inbox.....basically another useless, empty response:

 

Requesting information about your N-400, Application for Naturalization:

It is up to the adjudicating Officer to determine if Biometrics may be able to be re-used for each case.

Per USCIS policy, biometrics must be collected as part of the background check process on all applicants for naturalization regardless of their age.

 

Once you have been scheduled, you may view and print a copy of your USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) Appointment Notice within your USCIS online filing system account. After you log in to your USCIS online filing system account, access the Home Tab to find the "Documents" field to view or print your official appointment notice from USCIS. You must take the ASC Appointment Notice and photo ID to your appointment.

 

Further information regarding ASC biometric appointments is available at: ASC information.

Sounds like your AO is one super-busy or I don't give a .... kind of person. With the massive roll out of biometric reuse last week, one would have thought you will get that at least after all the messages and letter.

 

Just keep bugging them till someone will do the needful.

or that the prior biometrics is too old so it's being held up for a higher level manager to make the call

 

My biometrics re-use was from 1.75 years ago

My husband's biometrics were last completed in April 2019.

I sent them a message three times using the account log in, and finally that was their response.

Obviously they will never even get to the interview stage if they don't at least acknowledge biometrics, you're not even in the queue otherwise

I asked multiple times about biometrics reuse and they keep telling me to wait for an appointment or that it's up to the "adjudicating officer" to decide if the biometrics will be reused or not. Another person on the phone at USCIS told me to write a physical letter to the local office asking for biometrics reuse.

 

How many times did you contact them before getting that response that they will reuse your biometrics?

I filed in March 2020. Contacted local Congressman end of January 2021 to help with the next step, Biometrics. I received a Bio Reuse letter from USCIS on Feb. 12th 2021.

They reused my biometrics that were taken in 2013. Your fingerprints do not expire (lol). 

My advise, don't waste your time, contact your local Congressman/woman - USCIS will have to respond, by law. I sent them email before, just to get a generic (read: useless) response.

I already contacted one of the senators here and got a canned response that there is nothing they can do because the case is within processing time. So, basically it was zero help.

 

I just emailed the other senator today. If they don't respond by next week, I'll reach out to the local representative in my district.
