Unless the attorney is an expert in FAMILY BASED immigration, he probably has little practical knowledge or experience with the I-864.  You are NOT "confused" though.  You have two opinions.  Make an educated choice and proceed.

Thank you for your input, I will go ahead and proceed with two i864 and the i864 for my mother on behalf of my dad since they filed jointly.

I-864a from one of the parents too.

Yes, that is what I meant. I864 for me i864 for father and i864a for mother attached to fathers i864.  I feel this is much easier for me to take on as well.

So I submitted my financial documents and AOS on CEAC a couple of days ago. I submitted my I 864 and a I864 for dad and an I 864a for mother which my dad files jointly with her. My question is, did I file the correct methods or did I have to submit and i864a for both of them and add them as household members. We reside in the same address and I read somewhere of documents getting rejected because of people adding as joint sponsors when they had to be added as household members. Help anyone, can someone just give me some feedback on this?

I'm lost.  Your parents would be joint sponsors.  One of them is the joint sponsor and the other is they household member.  Joint sponsor files I-864 and the spouse the I-864a.  YOU, as petitioner file your own I-864 whether you have income or not.  Your sibling does NOT count in YOUR household, only the household of your joint sponsor.

Hello,

Just wanted to thank you on your input. I went ahead and submitted as you recommended and got all my documents accepted on May 29th.

Thank you!!
