Hello & Good Afternoon,

I filed in 2016, interview scheduled Dec 27, 2019 in Juarez. After my interview my case went into fraud department requiring me to go to Guadalajara after it was over on Jan 27 2020 it was shifted to administrative processing which completed at the end of February. They requested my Passport shortly after. On March 3 status was changed to refused and on March 4 it changed to issued. I received my Visa on the 6th and flew back on the 7th prior to flying I paid my fee online on the 6th.

I have my Visa but awaiting for my SSN & Resident Card/Green Card. While I wait is there any way I can work or will have to wait?

You could work immediately as you entered the US via a CR-1 visa.   The endorsed visa is your green card until the plastic one arrives.....

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You can work right away, just won't be able to get paid until you give your employer your SSN if I remember correctly. But you don't need to wait for the plastic green card, use your stamp in your passport

My bad on the headline it's IR1 visa on my passport.

An IR-1 visa authorizes you to work immediately upon entry to the US......You will need a Social Security number to be paid......but you are authorized to work immediately.

I got my SSN today took 10 days from fee being paid.

The $220 immigrant fee?   Hopefully, your green card will arrive in a couple weeks.

Hi

my husband came on with the I-551 on December 16th 2019! He still has not received his plastic green card in the mail. If he doesn’t get it by April 15th we will begin harassing USCIS. He was able to work as soon as he got his SSN card. He got hired at a company who does e-verify which required him to call DHS so they could verify his work eligibility.
