When they give you new appointment  its close or far  ?

No idea, I have no experience with that. I bet it could take months to get a new interview appointment.

What stage are you at in the process? I saw my estimated time be 19 days then I got scheduled an interview shortly after. It might not be a glitch!

Unfortunately it could mean many things. In some cases good. In others it means absolutely nothing.

What stage are you at in the process?

In my case I filed January 31st, 2020. Estimated wait time was 7 months and Estimated completion was 8 months I believe (so August and September 2020 respectively). Had the biometrics mid February 2020. My estimated countdown went from months (i.e 7;6;5;4...1) then it went to days all the way down to 6 days early August, then it disappeared and showed "We are taking longer than expected...". From that day in early August 2020 till December 3rd there were no updates or changes to that message. Then on December 3rd is when I was notified of the interview. So as you see all the way down to 6 days estimated but then things went south. Cross your fingers.

I have never done an extension to GC. I had my conditional in 2008 and the permanent in 2010. That's the one that expired last May 2020 right after I applied.

But, I don't see why that would slow down your case. On the contrary it could help it a bit (again, pure speculation). By extending the GC, it means somebody is enquiring or reviewing something about you somewhere. Maybe applications that may have ended up out of sight can end up in sight after an officer starts looking for something or asking questions about someone. You never know.

As for my first comment it was in response to one of your previous messages I read, which put me under the impression that you were told or decided to wait till you had the extension before you filed the n400. My point was, if the GC is expiring very soon but not yet expired, one should not delay the application of N400, as getting extensions in COVID days in certain offices can take a long time. But since you already filled your N400 then that's fine. ROC and such can delay an N400 application, obviously, but not an extension (IMHO).

Hi, sorry for replying late... A lot of personal stuff going on for the past 2 weeks...  :( This pandemic is tough...  We were married in 2008 but I got my conditional PR in the first quarter of 2009. and 10 yr card in 2011...

I did call USCIS back just to see what would they tell me to do, and they told me that they were going to schedule an infopass to have my passport stamped for the GC extension. They told me to wait for a phone call so that they can schedule me and to wait up to 7 business days. However, I did not receive a phone call, instead, after 3 business days of waiting for the phone call, I get a text that says that I have action on my case and I needed to log in. Aaanddd... lo and behold,  I logged in and saw that I was scheduled for an interview! I checked my documents tab and I saw the Notice in the documents tab. I am so relieved and excited! I am still waiting on the paper notice though. Hopefully I get it soon... so I guess it kinda gave them a nudge... Hopefully, my case will keep on moving forward, and everybody else's too... I guess just hang in there... I hope everything will go smoothly for everyone... :)

8.20.08-married :D:D:D

10.08 - forms I-485 and I-130 submitted through lawyer

11.08- biometrics

12.2008- appointment for interview received

01.04.09- EAD card received

01.28.09- interview for AOS

02.05.09- AOS approval letter and welcome note! yey!

02.12.09- GC recieved! :D (wrong middle name spelling)

02.15.09- moving out of in-laws' house.

confused if i have to change address first or have GC corrections

Great. That's what I said. Maybe by calling them and asking for the extension got someone to pick up your file and end up realizing that it would need to be moved. On November 30th after 3 months of my estimated completion/wait times going to "We are taking longer..." I uploaded some additional documents to my file online, and 3 days later I finally got an interview notice. You really never know, but I do believe depending on the officer a gentle nudge can go a long way.

If it's only the N-400 then the spouse is never allowed at the interview, covid hasn't changed that. 3 or 5 year rule doesn't matter.

If it's a combo with a pending i-751 then yes, bring your USC spouse. Under normal circumstances the USC is also "interviewed", but now during the pandemic we have seen reports of both - some where the spouse was stopped at the security and told "we'll call you If we need you" and s/he was never needed/called in, but also reports that the spouse was interviewed as well. So it can go either way really, and you should bring your spouse just in case. This is only if you have a pending i-751.

Congratulations. I am also a Mar '20 filer from Southern California. I filed N400 in end of Mar, so hopefully I can get interview notice soon.

The time estimate seems to be a very simple formula.  What I think people are seeing is the effect of all the people whose interviews were cancelled due to the start of COVID and did not complete their process until much later.
