IR1 - Wife is Filipino Citizen but filed for Australian Citizenship (merged)

Maybe they can delay the paperwork at NVC while going to the process of re acquiring Filipino citizenship?

 

Maybe going to the Philippines to apply for re acquisition and new passport might be faster since passport has to be produced in the Philippines.

 

I can understand OP wife's desire to get Australian citizenship. Who knows, they want to come back in the future  and get jobs/settle over there.

Delaying at NVC would seem to be the best way to manage this in order to minimise delays with the multiple applications going on here 

Not sure the age of OP and spouse .. but there  are major benefits in Australian citizenship for older people .. healthcare, aged pension, government subsidised nursing homes etc .. but the flip side is that the costs  for a foreign spouse to immigrate to Australia are significantly higher(many times higher )  than the US costs of the same process

His idea to complete things for the IR visa at the same time she is trying to complete the Australian citizenship is fraught with issues.

I missed this question earlier.  The answer, is that it depends on the facts at the time.  If she is an Australian Citizen at the time the visa is issued, it should be put in the Aussie passport.  It is NOT a "stamp".  I'm saying do the math on the timing.  You do not need to wait until she has Aussie citizenship to file the I-130.  Time it so she actually gets the visa AFTER she has an Aussie passport.  If your initial timing doesn't work out, you can always delay the spouse visa process at the National Visa Center stage.
