Anyone know if a US citizen spouse is allowed to attend with spouse for the visa interview for IR1 CR1 at Islamabad embassy ? I’ve heard recently they don’t allow spouses anymore and also on the website it doesn’t say anything about spouse being allowed or not. Wanting to hear from others experiences lately thanks.

I would be very surprised if the USA citizen/LPR spouse is not REQUIRED for a cr-1/ir-1 interview.

As I said I would be surprised.

Truly amazing.

This is why we cannot nice things: the state department fails to properly vett marriage based immigration visas.

I'm US citizen and my wife had interview on October,18th. I was not required to be there but I attended the interview with my wife without any problem.

The interview was at "US Embassy Islamabad"

They are currently not allowing petitioners in.  I was there last week and was not allowed.  This seems to have changed around the time of the recent events with Iran.
