Hello guys,

 

I received a date for my husband's interview, and have registered online to schedule an appointment for his medical exam. Has anyone here completed the interview process before completing the medical exam and what was your experience? Thanks

They don't say it has to be done ahead  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/KNG-Kingston.html

 

But most want it done before.  Some consulates will not allow an interview without medical. Sometimes another test needs to be completed and the medical isn't sent.  That is pretty rare.

This is why I am confused... When I called the hospital about the interview date, she said that it happens often and that they will send the results to the Embassy. I don't know if I am over thinking it.

Yes you are over-thinking it.  You can't control it.  Let the hospital know that if there is a cancellation he can come in.

Great idea, I didn't think of that. Once I get the medical examination date I can make the next move.

This is what I found online with the NVC:

Before Your Visa Interview

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Immigrant visa applicants must complete (schedule and attend) their medical examinations with authorized physicians before their scheduled interview dates. If you complete your medical examination after your visa interview, processing of your immigrant visa case will be delayed until the U.S. Embassy or Consulate has received your medical examination results. Therefore, applicants are strongly encouraged to complete their medical exams prior to their visa interviews. Find the list of authorized physicians for the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where you will apply at List of U.S. Embassies and Consulates.

 

So I think there will be a delay but it would not affect approval. What do you think?

The consulate instructions are more specific . . . well less in that it does not say "must".   Consulates have the final word on medical.

Should I feel comfort in the idea that the case will delayed or worry that the case will be denied?

It won't be denied.  Things happen at medicals all the time.   Just results being delayed is not a major thing.  I friend has his wife's medical delayed because the clinic uploaded someone else's results.   Took a week to straighten out.

It won’t be denied because you haven’t had the medical yet .. the decision will be delayed until they receive the medical results. Nothing comforting or worrying.
Think of it this way ... 

1+2=3.   and 

2+1=3

Different order... same outcome

Thank you so much... My mind is at ease now. My husband has been working all day and now I can give him more positive information. I do not mind the slight delay, I'm more focused on the approval.

Hi,

I do have comfort knowing that the medical exam delay will not cause a denial. I thought that he would be denied because of not having the medical done in time. However, I now understand that not having the medical done before will cause a delay.

 

P.S. I know this is weird because we all want things to happen fast, but the delay will help me prepare more for my husband's  arrival.

Not weird at all. This process is a roller coaster of emotions and pressure so sometimes these unexpected happenings actually help. 😁
