RFE intent to marry help pls

Hi everyone,

I just got a RFE for intent to marry. Unfortunately I don’t have much evidence of wedding plans as we were awaiting NOA2 to make some. What else can I send? Help pls

Did you and your fiance each write a intent to marriage letter?  Like the instructions say?

Good question.  Seems kind of strange, to me,  that New Zealand would require more than the letter......

I did, wet signature. But they requested more evidence. I’m not sure what else I can possible send.

Yes I did the RFE letter states that they received the letter of intent but it is not enough evidence alone to show mutual intent to marry

I've never experienced the USCIS asking for more than just the letter of intent to marry. My gut feeling is they misplaced the original letter. Perhaps you could rewrite the same letter, add more details like how you plan to get married once your fiance arrives in the US, etc. etc. and sign/date.

You need 2 letters.   Once from each of you in your own words stating that you plan to marry in the 90 days.   That is all that is needed to show intent.

Well, in order to take the path of least resistance, you could email a couple venues for information.....then send that.........or you could explain that you plan to marry as soon as possible via a courthouse wedding...thus, there are no concrete plans.......this is an odd one.  I recall only one other RFE like this....I assume both of you submitted letters of intent...

I was thinking this. Going into more detail and I have a few screenshots of messages from friends discussing the wedding plans but not much at all. I’m thinking it could possibly be because quite a few years ago I went through the 129f process with my ex fiancé maybe they are questioning my intent because of this.

Yes we both submitted letters of intent that were mentioned in the RFE letter. Do you think I should just send everything I have related to discussions to the wedding and engagement? I maybe have about 15 screen shots of convos, ring receipts and photos of our rings together etc

Honestly, that might be a good idea....I have no idea why they sent you an RFE if both of you submitted LOIs.......

The only thing I can think of is that years back I submitted a 129f with my ex fiancé. But never carried through with the k1 because we broke up. Maybe they think I’m trying to just get a green card  which is so far from the truth lol.

That’s so strange. I did that already and they acknowledged that I did in the RFE letter but saying it’s not enough.

I'm with @missileman, two letters of intent is all that is ever submitted.  I would re-submit both and maybe include a cover letter with some plans like getting married at a courthouse, Vegas, vineyard and who you intend to invite, special vows to be taken, etc.  Copy of the ring receipt would be good too.

 

If it has been more than 2 years since you last filed then you wouldn't need a waiver.   Did you withdraw the previous petition?  That might be an issue.

It could just be a crazy adjudicator.

Sounds good I’m gathering all that evidence and writing up a new letter now. 
I am the beneficiary that had a previous 129f filed which was more than 2 years ago. I requested my ex fiancé withdraw it but not entirely sure if they had. So possibly the reason. Fingers crossed. Do you think it’s better to send all possible extra evidence? More is better than less?
