FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN OR TRANSCRIPT

Hello guys,

I have a question regarding Tax return transcript.

1.Which year's tax return should I need to submit(2018 or 2019)?

2. Today (2020-01-11), Do I have to submit transcript of 2018 or 2019?

3. If 2019, when can I request IRS(Internal revenue service) for 2019 tax transcript?

 

Because I don't have enough income in 2018 but good income in 2019 over $21000.

Please suggest.

1.  As of today, 2018 is the most recent tax year.

2.  After April 15th, 2020, 2019 will be the most recent tax year.

3.  Tax transcripts are not available until after a person has filed taxes.  Thus 2019 tax transcripts will not be available until after 2019 taxes have been filed.

What if i tax file for 2019 after tax file started(jan15 most prob)? Will i use 2019 tax record transcript?

 

how long do i need to wait if i apply for tax file on jan 15??

As said 2018 is the current tax year until April 15 so 2018 taxes is what NVC required until April 15. You can upload 2019 taxes instead if you want though

2020 tax filing starts on Jan 27. If you efile the same day and don’t have complex tax issues, you may get processed in two-three weeks and may access your tax transcripts toward last week of february.

 

if you go with paper filing, extend that by another 4-5 weeks or more to be able to use the 2019 transcript.

File your 2019 income tax as soon as possible, once approved by IRS you can print transcript online, order by phone or order in mail through online it should arrive in 5-10 business days. 2018 is optional unless your 2019 tax is not approved by IRS OR not filed by the time your file moves to NVC. IF its late then you can always file I-864 with your joint sponsor and you will be alright.
