Hello Everyone

anyone around same timeline as me?

i-797 Notice 11/26/2019

Fingerprints 12/30/2019

as of today, my case still says 'Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken'

what to expect next?

thanks!

I filed a month after you. Still fingerprints taken status only. I honestly gave up hope and won’t be expecting anything for another 6 months. I also am deciding to not file for citizenship yet until I get the green card

EvgeniaM, our case is so similar to yours, from Bay and our case is in Phoenix I believe, we filed couple of weeks after you, and still no update, just an extension letter, not even fingerprints were applied. Also thinking about n400 until permanent gc is approved

EvgeniaM and I are in a very similar timeline. Both Bay Area and with the California SC. Filed end of December and received notice, but nothing until mid July when our case got updated to say fingerprints were taken (even though I didn't go in). Upon her recommendation I reached out to USCIS and inquired about the lack of information regarding my fingerprints and they assigned someone to investigate. A few weeks later, they just used the old fingerprints and my case was updated. Haven't received any new info since, but it's one step closer to this illusive GC. Maybe give that a shot to at least get the fingerprint situation sorted. Good luck!

hi there, as Jules suggested you should too call USCIS and submit an inquiry as to why fingerprints take almost a year. They never should take more than 1-2 months from the time os submission. You have a right to submit an inquiry if it has been over 6 months since you last heard on your case. IF the rep on the phone refuses then ask to speak to a supervisor. This will move your case hopefully and your fingerprints will either be reused, or you will get an appointment scheduled.

Good luck!
