Hi, is it true Facebook account is mandatory? I have facebook and i dont have friends i just use the messenger for family and friends, the facebook, for my business like page. Someone told me that in the interview it is mandatory to have your real name on facebook with photos of you and petitioner. Please enlighten me. Thanks!

Having a Facebook account is not necessary. IF you have a Facebook account, or other social media, you need to list the names on the ds-160.

I think there would be more concern if you had an active social media presence, but do not have any mention of your wife/fiance rather than if you just do not have an active social media presence. Even then it is only one piece of the puzzle.

I use Facebook for the messenger only. The account is deactivated due to the actual app being a toxic playground.

i gave my old username on the DS260. Basically, just give them what you got. I hope you have nothing to hide.

It's deactivated. But I had used it in the last 5 years so it went down. If they want to talk about it, I can only offer them the truth. I'm sure it doesn't matter and I'm not losing sleep.

So they want even the deleted ones not just the existing ones?

I can't remember the question exactly, but I believe it said social media usernames that you have used in the last five years.
