Hello Everyone,

My name is rahul. I have applied for green cards on my parents and also applied for dv lottery visa.

Now I want to fill tourist visa for US because my family is planning holidays and I also want to visit a conference.

In which category should I apply?

B1-Business

B2- Tourist

B1-B2 Both Purpose

What are the chances of getting visa. Please provide guidance.

Unfortunately, your chances are not good since it seems you have ties to the IuS and immigrant intent.   You can of course apply, but be aware that you may be in for a denial.

I am not sure anyone can say what your chances are, but given what you wrote here, I agree with @Jorgedig, the likelihood of approval is low IMO.

As to applying, you would apply as a B2.

Good Luck!

Your parents filed a I130 for you? What category?

Chances may not be good unless you can show strong ties to return to India. Doesn’t matter what B visa you apply for, though B1/B2 combo is most common - chances of success or failure are the same for any B.

(As an aside, curious, you list your country as India, on what basis did you apply for DV lottery? It won’t affect the application in any case, but India is not eligible for DV. Born elsewhere?)
