So the new public charge is set for the 3rd or November (health care) and my wife's interview is on the 7th, sadly my job say I can get the insurance and have her on there on the 1st of November which is a bit of a problem for us. Impossible to send anything to her in time for the 7th. So Im asking for any tips on what we can do to show that she will get the health insurance by time she's here?

It’s my understanding that the rule was going to be effective from 15 October, however it was blocked..

in saying this, it’s irresponsible to not have health insurance, you should still look at trying to get health insurance as being without it comes at considerable risk both medically and financially.

Hi Keem,

Most employer plans have the ability to add outside of open enrollment based on life events and immigration should be one of them. If you called Monday they should be able to backdate the coverage to the beginning of the month. If that works for you and your employer, just give them a call after you know the date of migration.  I would check with your benefits desk.

Best wishes on the interview process.

They know about my wife situation (HR) but sadly I can't at the end of this month. I plan on writing a letter stating I will ensure my wife is covered by the time she is here within 30days and I plan on taking a picture of whatever I get after I sign up for the health insurance and send it via e-mail and let she print it. Another question, when I sign up for the health insurance, do i receive a document the same day?

I am unsure who you are going to ensure coverage to. Who is asking for this?
