We just received our NOA 2 yesterday! The NOA 1 was given on October 1st, so it was a total of 101 days for us.

Exciting to see another filer from Japan get their NOA2. Our NOA1 is the 8th so fingers crossed we'll hear something soon. What area of Japan?

I'm sorry but there are thousands of government employees working on Friday's. Disparaging others is not COOL.

That's ARCHIVED information so it's not current information. You must be careful on what you give as information. It's better to say nothing then to give a wrong answer. Now if you have another link that proves me wrong I would gladly like to see it as then I can change my PDF. Thanks.

She is from Tokyo but currently on Canada on a working holiday visa so she'll do the interview in Canada. I'm not sure if I should have Japan or Canada listed as her country here on Visa Journey...

Hey!! I may be being stupid and it’s probably because it’s getting so close and I’m freaking out but am I right in thinking that this means 15/10 is our NOA1 date?

Hi! based on my understanding Oct. 15 is the date USCIS received your petition.  The NOA1 date is the one stated on your NOA1 (basically the receipt notice/ the hardcopy).

ex. our received date is Sept. 26 but our NOA1's stated date is oct. 3 😊

hope this helps if im not wrong.

Considering the number of furlough fridays in our country it's not a disparaging comment at all. I can name 90% of my government contracts that are not available on a Friday. Would you like me to name them?

Facts are facts.

Read your original post and it does come off as you are disparaging government employees. Your comment now further adds to the argument but with a better explanation of the original post. Most furlough's for government employees are due to government shutdowns and not because it's Friday and for some reason, the person or persons want a day off. Whether someone takes a day off or not during this process you will never be able to pin it on furlough Fridays. If you can I'd like to see the statics of that for USCIS with a creditable link to your information. Otherwise, I think we are done here. Good luck on your visa journey.

Oct 15 is your NOA1 date. When you see your actual hard copy you confirm this as the receipt date as such will be printed on your receipt. The NOA1 isn't used for any part of this process except for accuracy when updating your time line. Otherwise it's has no baring on anything.

Your profile should reflect the country in which your interview will take place. This gives us a quick reference in answering your questions about any processes. Getting the correct answer will go a long way in helping you achieve your visa without any hiccups.
