If the scenario remains same.The next fiscal year starts from September ?

Will have visa available from October?

I think from October the fiscal year starts. In the mean time I feel that they will clear all the old applicants who have been waiting who has priority dates before 08Sep2020.

As you suggested the other option is if spouse gets the citizenship and then we can submit the naturalization certificate and request them to convert from F2A to IR1.Once the category gets to IRI is there any wait time for interview ?

If the spouse is eligible to apply for citizenship, that's a good option. But if the spouse is going to apply for naturalization right now, the whole process can take anywhere between 8 months to more than 1 year.  It takes more time now, we cannot say for sure. Only after they get the naturalization certificate, then only they can request NVC to upgrade from F2A to IR1. Also if there was kids under F2A category, then once you get citizenship, the process might get complicated. I would better suggest a lawyer for more info if there are kids involved in your F2A category.

 

In the meantime, if we wait till October, there is a possibility that the Priority dates becomes current under F2A category. Let's hope and pray for the best.

Thank you for the update.I am a single applicant with no dependents here in Canada.My spouse has applied for his citizenship last month and we are expecting it by november .Hopefully by october this F2A issue gets resolved.In both the options its going to be this year end unless any miracle happens and visa bulletein becomes current

Would you possibly know what is the difference between F21 and F2A visa category? My visa category is F21 not F2A or FX, what does this imply? Does the visa bulletin retrogression apply to both F21 and F2A?  Thanks in advance

F21 is spouse of LPR subject to country limitations, whereas FX1 is spouse of LPR exempt from country limitations. Both F21 and FX1 are under F2A category in visa bulletin. So yes, the retrogression applies to both. F21 is normally people born in India, China , Mexico and Philippines. FX1 is other world countries where there is no cap on the number of visas that can be issued per country.  Hope this answers your question

Hello, 

I have been documentarily qualified since Jan 19th, 2023. The visa class is F2b, 
I see a lot of people over here getting their interview letters in 2 to 3 month mark, but I haven’t gotten any update yet.
I emailed the Montreal Embassy aswell, but didn’t get any reply. Since it’s been more than three months, I’m getting slightly worried now.  

I’m not even sure if the priority date matters after being documentarily qualified but I checked on the bulletin, it says that the priority date currently is 22nd September 15 and my priority date is 26th, March 15 . 

Does that mean my priority date has already passed?  Can anyone guide me regarding this and also if someone is in a similar boat I would love to hear your experience.

Did you transfer your Case from a different consulate to Montreal recently? If so, there might be a bit delay, if not, just wait, you should receive your letter soon. Currently the Montreal consulate has sent interview letters to applicants DQ in December 2022 for family sponsored category according the consulate website. So just wait for a month or two.
