Hello,

my wife has has her I-551 stamp that she received in her passport when she arrived in the USA on her IR-CR1 visa.  The stamp is good for another 9 months.

She went back to China to visit her family and her green card should arrive in the mail in the next few weeks.

Does anyone know if the stamp is invalid once the green card is issued?  I am concerned about her re-entry.

HRQX - Thank you for the prompt reply.  I could not find this information on the USCIS website or VJ.  Can I ask if this has been your experience or where it was that you found the information?

Sincerely,

HRQX - with some more searching, I finally did find a thread on VJ that talks about this.  It was from a member who forgot his green card while travelling and successfully re-entered the US after a few additional questions by the Border Patrol Officer.

Regards,

Frank
