Hi, I don't know if I'm posting this in the right forum.
I have seen comments from some people that interviews are being scheduled in Mexico City (interview appointments for immigrant visas are only made in Ciudad Juarez as i understand) someone has had a similar experience where they change their interview from ciudad Juarez to Mexico city?

For the record Ciudad Juarez has a huge delay in immigrant visas, waiting times are up to one year since the case is closed at NVC.

It would be an awesome idea to do interviews in both CDMX and CD Juarez to get rid of serious backlog.

I know, but I have seen some comments in a Facebook group of the Juarez consulate in which a lawyer says that appointments may be opened in Mexico City, I just want to know if it has been the case of someone 😢 I also know that Facebook groups are not reliable, but I had some hope that it was true if I asked here.

Yes, it'd be great. Also, Mexico City is one of the UCSIS offices that will remain open.

Not sure why they would, they would need to implement a new system to handle them in DF, would seem odd when they have a system in place.

It is because they are severely overloaded.  It shouldn't take people almost one year after their CC to have an interview. Either expand what they already have in place or divert some to CDMX, especially those that live closer to CDMX than Juarez.

I also thought that. But since everything in Mexico is so centralized in CDMX, it wouldn't be strange for me if they started doing interviews there.

The USCIS office in Mexico City -which is separate from the Embassy- handles not just Mexico but other countries, so that's one of the reasons it is open still.

Regarding the interview, as long as there's no official announcement from an official source, don't believe that kind of rumour.

In any case, for CR1/IR1 visas, you don't get to schedule your appointment, so they would be the ones deciding where would the interview happen if they ever change location.

It is good you trust this forum, but sometimes even here, you can find misconceptions, misinterpretations and misinformation.

They've been consolidating immigrant visa interviews to a single consulate across all countries.

Makes more sense to expand on the capabilities there than implement a new system at a different location.

Had anyone seen or heard if they got an interview date from a case complete from Jan 2019. I know it’s taking a long time but just wondering if anyone has gotten an interview date with the same or close enough cc. ?

I think they’re giving interviews to cc November 2018!!
