10 Year Visa for Iraqi Citizen

Hello everyone!

I am an American Citizen and my wife is Iraqi. We do not plan to move permanently back to the USA in the next two years. However, I do make trips quite often but I cannot take my wife with me because she does not have a US Visa since we still have not applied. Recently, a couple of my friends from Turkey got a 10 year visa. Is there a special application for a 10 year visa? I know that I can apply for a B1/B2 but I'm not sure how long the visa will be issued for, I believe the normal issuance is 1 year. How can I go about getting a 10 year visa for my wife?

There is no "10 year visa". There is a visitor visa that commonly has a validation for 10 years. But it is not called a 10 year visa... it is a B1/B2 visa (visitor visa).

This is the only option your wife have for your scenario. Your friend likely has the same thing but doesn't understand what it is called.

All you can do is apply for a B2 visitor visa for your wife and hope she is approved.  If she is approved, as @Unlockable stated they will issue a 10 year multiple entry visa which will allow your wife to visit the US for a period determined by CBP at the time of entry but for no more than six months at a time.

Good Luck!

Per visa reciprocity, max b1/2 visa issuance is 12 months for Iraqi citizens. So she wouldn’t be able to get longer duration visa.

All info on travel.state.gov or search visa reciprocity Iraq.

Yup, max is 1 year here. No way to get a 10 year tourist visa, in accordance with the DOS reciprocity table:
