Question on how early to do EAD/AP combo card renewal

Hi, I have a EAD/AP combo card which expires in March 2020. I am still awiaitng my AOS interview. Thinking ahead, I wanted to file for renewal of the EAD/AP combo card so it does not lapse. For EAD, uscis says file 6 months before expiry (Sept 2019 for me) and AP should be filed 4 months before expiry (December 2019) for me. Since this is a combo card, can I file for both EAD AND AP renewal at once in Sept 2019? Has anyone gone through this? If so, was there any issue for applying for AP renewal too early?

I would say go for it in September 2019. The whole mess associated with this is of USCIS' own making, and we are the ones that have to try to live through it....lol..Be sure that you make copies of everything that you send USCIS.....you know how things can get misplaced.....

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Apply as soon as you can, we followed the directions from an online USCIS officer to apply 120 days before expiry, that was in June, card expires in October, and we've still not heard anything about renewal.  Husband has to travel for work in October, and he called to see if he could expedite yesterday.  They said they'd let us know in 5 business days, but it might be until March 2020 for the renewal.  We submitted our AOS in June 2018.  It's nuts how slow this system as gotten.  I renewed my passport and from the day I mailed it out, got it back in 9 days total!  If only USCIS could learn from them!

Best of luck!
