Petitioner traveling with applicant

My wife mentioned to me that she read somewhere that the Petitioner (me) is required to travel to the US with the applicant (her) on her initial entry into the US after her CR1 visa / green card is issued (fingers crossed still). True or not? I was planning on doing this anyway but seeing what others think or know on this topic. Thank you.

Not a general requirement.  Sometimes there is a visa endorsement that says the beneficiary must enter simultaneously or after the petitioner.  This is most common when both are living abroad or on a DCF case.

 

Put another way - if the petitioner is in the US it is ok for the beneficiary to enter alone.

The actual requirement is that the immigrant spouse cannot enter BEFORE the petitioner.  Often the petitioner enters many months sooner than the immigrant.
