When we applied for my wifes AOS/EAD/AP there was a question in one of the forms asking if we wanted to get a SSN at the same time.

My wife just got her EAD/AP card.  We are still waiting to get scheduled for her interview.

We did apply for her SSN a few weeks after she arrived here last year, but they did not issue her a SSN because "they could not verify her status".  We did not follow up with them until it was too late and her I-94 had expired.

So my question is, since we checked the box in the AOS application for her to get a SSN card, will it arrive soon since she already received her EAD/AP card?  Or can we go to the SSN office again and apply again.  I don't want to confuse things since we checked that box in the documents.  I guess I assumed the SSN would come at the same time as her EAD/AP combo card.

Thanks in advance for all the advice.

If you applied for it on the I765 it will come in the mail 7 to 10 days after the EAD arrives if not sooner.

You can even check on it by calling SSA Headquarters in MD as that's who issues it, not your local SSA office.
