  Nothing unusual in this article to me at all. Parents go through this kind of thing all the time. If someone can't be around your kids and keep their politics, religion and vices to themselves, they can stay away. It's not actually a hard thing for a parent. It's among the easiest things I had to deal with raising kids. It quite simply comes down to my house, my rules. If somebody, be it a friend, relative or stranger, comes to your home and does something you don't want, you simply say don't do that in my house. Or don't do that in front of my kids. If that is not acceptable, then it's time for them to leave.
