Hi,

We just got an approval for the petition.  I still need to do medical and interview.   I know that it will still be months before I'll be able to get a visa (hopefully)

I just want to ask if its easy to get another orthodontics in the US to continue with the adjustment of my braces. I have metal ones.

I hope its not going to cost so much as I would rely on my future husband to pay for it since i couldnt work yet.

Orthodontia is very expensive in the US, and many dental insurance plans do not cover it.  You might want to discuss it ahead of time with your fiancé if it is going to be an expense when you get here.

You should be able to get someone to take over care once you’re here. Though my husband went ahead and got new ones.  The mixed blessing was insurance covers them but the payment method requires a plan of treatment and the placement of braces.

If it’s not covered by insurance call around and ask who will take over care perhaps per visit to tighten them.  They are maddeningly difficult as they will tell you to come in to be looked at.  They even complimented my husband on the very good work that was done but proceeded to sell new ones. We gave up and just got them though I resented it.

I know others have done it. But with some persistence.  Have your fiancé ask around.

My wife had her braces in PI and as I recall it was less than $500 for us. When she arrived she had had them on a year.

The dentist here here offered to either remove them and replace effectively starting a new treatment plan or just leave them off.  Estimate was $5500 to continue treatment and my plan would pay $2500 max.

since the issue she got them for was corrected by then she chose to just have them removed.

Don't be surprised if the ortho in USA will want to remove the braces and re do them,  We did this and I think the cost was around around $1800 and that was cash pay and no insurance.

I have seen a few girls in PI get braces and have them on for a couple of years and still have bucked tooth, I can say I am not impressed with the Orthodontics in Philippines.
