Online status after 2nd interview still shows we are ready to schedule your Form I-485...for an interview

We had our first interview in March 2019 then second interview June 2019. We check our status online almost daily. The message online has read, "We are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number ##, for an interview" after our first interview and after our second interview. Today finally we can see the date updated to show the most recent status as of July 3, 2019 however the message remains the same! They only updated the date but not the message! Has anybody experienced this as well? Is there such a thing as a 3rd interview? If our application was denied would the website say "denied"?

We need to know from which visa you're adjusting.  Your thread can then be moved to the appropriate forum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

My husband came to the US on a tourist visa, we got married during the time the visa was still valid, then a few months later his tourist visa expired and we started the process for the I-485 and I-130. We went to interview #1 then three months later we went to interview #2 which we feel we did very good and now status says we are in queue for interview #3.

I don't think I've ever heard of three interviews, but if your application were rejected, you'd receive a notice of intent to deny.

Out of curiosity, what happened during the first interview, and what happened during the second? Were you separated for both? Did they ask Stokes interview questions? What was the problem they were trying to address, the validity of the marriage or something else?

First interview was short maybe 15min long.

Second interview was a full blown stokes interview, we were separated about an hour each, he went first, I went second. At the end of the interview the officer said we did good and the website should be updated in 1-7 days.

3 weeks later the website was updated to say we are in queue to be scheduled for a 3rd interview.

If anybody has been denied I would like to know what the website said.

So I just now got an email from immigration which reads:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On July 11, 2019, we scheduled an interview for your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number MSC#######. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

THIS WILL BE INTERVIEW #3!! How does one even prepare for this? Nobody on here has been to a third interview.

Do you have any updates? Have you called them to ask for when the interview was scheduled, and whether (the tier 2 rep) has any more information?

It's possible people have had three interviews, but I personally have never heard of that. I wonder if it's more of an RFE (bring X, but do it in person). Otherwise, having two Stokes interviews just seems overkill. You passed or you didn't, and you have no NOID.

We called before this last update on their website and were transferred to Tier 2 who confirmed we were in queue to be scheduled for a third interview but could not say why. He said he would open a ticket so someone could email with information. This request still hasn't been assigned to anybody to do. We are now just waiting on the letter to see what it says.
