I love my GE.  The interview at Sea-Tac was efficient and interesting.  It was from the agent there that I found out how strict NZ is about foreign food being brought in.  Would have hated to lose that beautiful vacuum-packed sockeye to the customs bin!

Do they tend to just ask the basics?

You get asked 4 questions on the kiosk.   Then you take the receipt and they stamp it at the booth.   I rarely here a word.

When I came through last time (couple of weeks back) we didn’t even go past the normal booth. CBP guy was standing at the side, just taking and glancing at the GE printouts as people filed by. The only question I got was because I’d ticked “food” on the customs checklist. Most people just got a nod!

Oh, the answer is “maybe”. Lol.

Will I need to be interviewed again when I renew my program membership?

An interview for program membership renewal may not be necessary. Once you submit your renewal application and fee, check your TTP account periodically for updates on what actions are necessary to complete the renewal process. You will receive an email when your membership status changes.

I got my new Global Entry card in the mail on 11 July. This was a renewal, they used the old photo, no interview. Not bad service, even with a long holiday weekend in the mix.

HTH, YMMV

Australia too. No food period. You can google Australia Border Force videos on You tube and see for yourself.
