Anyone here actually applying for a J1-Internship Visa and getting a DS 5535? Maybe J1's are far down their priorities so my case wasn't even touched for two months since the interview?! Are there other J1s here that I can talk to?

Ummm I think this process is not too transparent du p actually predict anything if priority had anything to do with this ppl with CR1/IR1 here are on the top and still wait for a while whereas I have seen certain non immigrant cases resolve within a few weeks I really hope you get the visa Insha Allah which country you're from and did they keep your passport

I know someone that is in AP because of ds5535 since August of 2016 when he had his interview.

Do you mean 2017?  Ds-5535 came out in  2017.  Unless he got the ds-5535 months after his interview.

Yea he was put in AP in 2016 and then in 2017 ds5535 was requested.

There are just a few that have been in AP for about 2 years since ds-5535.   If you look back through the threads you can see their stories.

Most seem to get responses in 8-12 months.  Some even sooner but it is different for everyone.

That is horrible!  Whats his story?  Red flags?  Is there a senator involved?

Ye Allah...

Also he had a position where he travelled to over 30 countries.

Wow...well that explains some of it.  That's a lot for them to look through.

There is a case in the old thread.  He was a musician and was in several countries.  He has his visa now but it was a very long wait.

Does that mean that people who travel a lot tend to stay longer in AP than others? I have travelled quite a bit within the last 15 years...Also: do those cases got updated within their 2 months after the interview? Just trying to compare it to my case which still hasn't been updated yet ...
