These rates are CRAZY!

Fiance Visa is $455... from $170. What the heck kind of increase is this.

AOS is now going to be $1,010!

If they are increasing these prices more than twice, I hope they will also process these cases twice as fast!

Dang it! I was hoping I'd be able to file my I-751 before the increase came into effect.

I gave that information 3 weeks ago in this topic: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67191

and a LOT of people wrote in that topic: "is not official" or that new fees will be effective for 2008... Now I hope those people believe that is real and efective July 30 2007.

It's really not as bad as it looks as far as the AOS goes, it's only a couple hundred more dollars but now it included the EAD so no need for seperate checks. Still pricey though but worth it!

Yep. My sentiments exactly.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Right now AOS is $395; EAD is $180 so even though AOS would include EAD it's still $435 more. Maybe $435 is not much for some of you but for us it's quite a bit. It's worth filing earlier than planned IMO.

I'll be honest with you. it is quite a bit for us as well but there is no way around it so I see no reason to stress about it. Why work yourself up over something that is mandatory and will allow your honey to work and pay you back!

If you actually sit down and tally up the cost of all of it....start to finish....it is mind boggling.

In your case, yes, I wouldn't stress about it since you have no choice in the matter (filing after the changes take effect). In our case we can file anytime. We were planning on waiting out the EAD so my husband could work and pay for his own AOS (he'll still pay for it now but with the money he brought with him) but if we can save $435 why not do it now? We sent in the EAD today and plan on sending in AOS in about a month or so.

Can you send in EAD without AOS at the same time? I heard you can do AOS... then later EAD, but not the other way around?

Note that she's K3 not K1. There's no good reason for a K1er to file for an EAD before filing for AOS.
