TO is gone but I join the discussion as a musician who immigrated under EB1A through consular processing in late 2016. Always nice to meet fellow artists here going one way or the other. 🙋‍♂️

Hi ladies and gentlemen,

I have got a question. My partner has applied for O1 visa 2 weeks ago through the standard process. Since we are in a bit of a hurry we are thinking to change it to a premium process. But we also have heard that the premium process is more difficult to get approved. Just wanted to know your experience with premium and standard process, is that a correct statement and the approval of the premium visa is really more difficult than the standard process or they are not different at all. Appreciate your responses.

Opinions on this can vary. Most lawyers will say it does NOT matter. Mine said the same and I went with PP and had a clean walk through. In case you have an attorney also consult him on this matter and I would probably go for it. You would also not be the first one who ended up having trouble with their sponsors due to long regular processing .

I would wait two more weeks and then update it to PP. The problem with PP is that sometimes they run short on time and send an RFE, but otherwise it should be the same. Giving them an extra month (two weeks in addition to 2 weeks already given) should give them plenty of time
