Transcripts are never original as they are printed from a website,

YMMV

The transcripts we have received in our immigration journey since 2012-2013 were  online requested and then we received the transcripts in the mail. However, now the IRS website indicates the online access, and then printing, or online ordering for mail delivery are viable options. Now the online access and printing option is slick,  with IRS letterhead logo on the printout.

Here is a USCIS link with their take on the original or copy of documents question:

DOS may have other requirements, check with the interviewing embassy/consulate for details.

YMMV.

Hello there @huttohorn

How is the process for you going in Ecuador? How long did it take you to receive a Case Completed status after scanning your documents into CEAC? I've just recently submitted everything and waiting on a reply. How long did you wait for the interview after Case Complete?

I believe if you bring the w2's they would need to be originals. Tax transcripts can be printed.

That would be difficult as a majority of W2s are electronically distributed nowadays,

YMMV
