Hello guys I am new here. I got my passport with visa recently and my CFO is scheduled on May 8. My Fiance and I are wondering, is it okay to buy the plane ticket with the departure date on May 10?

I believe you can as long as you have your visa on hand and for sure you'll be able to attend your cfo, it wont be a problem :)

No I would not buy my ticket until after you finish with CFO, you still can get snagged up at CFO and CFO is a Philippines requirement to leave the country. You will do another interview there and they will look over your documents. So I would wait until you have that sticker in your passport.

Yeah I'll be able to attend the seminar and I have the complete set of the required documents.

I see. So even though I got the complete set of the required documents there's a possibility that they will not give me the sticker?😬😬

Yes depending on your interview and what they think of your relationship, but I must add if you get all the way to CFO and you misstep then something is wrong. I'm just saying to be on the safe side don't buy your ticket until CFO is done. But I realize it's your choice I'm just giving my opinion as you asked for with your post. Please don't read into my post I m sure you'll do fine at CFO hard to fail that, but to be realistic there are cases where people have blown it or something else might happen say your appointment is cancelled at CFO due to a number of reasons and your new appointment is pass the 10th of May then what will you do?

You can buy the tickets but understand that there is a small risk

As long as you have no issues with CFO you would be fine .... IF      Personally I would leave a few more days .. just in case.

CFO can be a breeze or a typhoon to deal with.

If you are a confident, self-assured person .. look people in the eyes when speaking and know your fiance well  (have a copy of the I-129F and read his BIO information)  you should have the "breeze"

Thank you for all the suggestions. Now, we decided just to wait until i'm done with the seminar then buy the plane ticket. I know I am confident enough to pass that and get that sticker but it's still up to them if they're gonna give it to me on that day. 🙂

This is why the CFO is a waste of time. The information given at the USA Embassy should suffice. It delays exit out of the country when there is no reason for it.

Agree actually, the only positive I guess is that the Filipino has a short orientation. I find it interesting that even for the married couples, they have to go through the GCP.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

That is pretty unusual as our wives are conditional residents of the USA, and the only way out of the relationship is an annulment.

No, they can file for divorce in the USA or the foreigner can file for divorce in the USA as well (which the Philippines does recognize). This orientation is supposed to help people know what to do when they are in bad situations such as DV or trafficking. It has it's ups and downs but they do take their power alittle too far I think.

Just be glad that it isn't PRISM anymore with the Nuns because they were power hungry and loved to use it.

Exactly. Hopefully for us it is easier and not as condensed as the K-1 filers.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
