K1 Visa Approved!

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to share my fiances interview experience and give everyone an update because I'm so excited!! I'm hoping he sends over a more detailed review for me to post but I'll give an overview here ☺️

 

His interview was at 11:30 am and he got there a half hour early and they let him in the line.  Once he got his number and was called, he handed over his documents.  They only needed his passport, DS160, Affidavit of Support, Passport Photos, and Police Records.  We also had supporting documents for the Affidavit but he did not need those.  They asked him here "When are you planning to get married?"  To which he responded "As soon as possible, hopefully before the end of the month".  Then he sat back down and waited.

 

After a short wait (I think it was about 15 mins),  he was called up and spoke to someone new.  He only asked my fiance TWO questions.  He first asked "How did you two meet?"  and he explained that we met through a mutual friend in while we were both living in Madrid.  He asked if the mutual friend was in any photos that I'd sent in and my fiance looked at the photos and said No.  Then he pulled out a photo that I'd sent in of us at his sister's wedding and asked who's wedding that was.  He just said "That was my sister's wedding" and the man told him "Ok, you're approved".

 

And that was IT!!!! 

 

That was on Tuesday and today, our status changed to "ISSUED" !!!  We are so happy!  Thanks to everyone on here for all the help.  I'm happy to help anyone going forward!!

Definitely should have it by then. Took mine 2 days from issued. Make sure to check your junk mail too for the courier email. That’s where mine ended up

We were approved on the 26th.  Passport and visa are now in hand.  My husband will be flying in on Monday the 8th.  Like you the interview was quick.  We wish you good luck on the rest of your journey!!!

Your the same locations as me!!! I'm from the UK & moved here to Massachusetts in Oct 2018 on a K1 fiancé visa

 

If you need any advice with our field office (Boston) in the future for AOS, just send me a message! (my AOS/greencard interview is at the end of this month)

Mass also has Lawrence for field office. It will depend on the county you live on

Yes im aware thank you, my interview is in Lawrence, but our profiles on here both say the same locations. I was just being friendly/helpful.

Do you have any estimate of when you'll receive the AP/ EAD?  We're planning to be married a week after he arrives and file right away 😬

 I live in Somerville (Middlesex County).  Do you know if that means I go through the Boston office?

Update: my fiance received the email today that his passport has been picked up by a courier and he should receive it tomorrow!!! 🤩
