BEFORE PEOPLE GET MAD: I realize this has likely been answered before, but I tried looking through threads and couldn't find what I'm looking for.

I moved to the US on a K1 visa in June. In 2018, I worked in Canada from January-June.

Just recieved my T4 in the mail, and tried to file my taxes on the H&R Block website, however I got to the question "Where did you live in December 2018?" and got stuck. Won't let me enter anywhere that I moved outside of Canada.

I have no idea where I'm supposed to go, or what I'm supposed to do. If I go to an H&R Block here, are they going to be able to my taxes? Help, please!!!!

I just paper filed but I called CRA to update my address in February. We can’t file online with a USA address. It’s all a pain in the butt. I just finished mine today and will be sending it tomorrow. I suggest you call CRA for guidance. I will always have to file by paperwork now for Canadian taxes but next year it will be as a non resident. Most of my 2018 was in Canada so it was filed normally.

Indeed, the CRA is a pain in the butt.  We've had multiple issues where they ask us repeatedly to write a letter about getting married and leaving the country and then they ask for it again.

We've been married about 3 years now!

Do you file taxes every year in Canada? I must as I receive a pension income.

No, not any more.  The problem is that they were sending my husband some sort of $100 cheque every year to which he's not entitled anymore as he's not a resident.  So we have to send it back every year.
