But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Domestic (US) mass produced: Sam Adams Boston Lager or Sam Adams Black Lager. I'll drink Bud Light but only because it's relatively cheap and available everywhere tap or bottle.

Imports: My all time favorite 'sipping' beer - Samichlaus Bier, Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, Murphy's Irish Stout, Weihenstaphaner Korbinian, Spaten Optimator, Paulaner Salvator Double bock, I could go on and on and on.

Best marketed terrible tasting beer: Heineken by far. It's what regular beer smells/tastes like after it sits too long in the heat - skunk piss in a bottle.

Most overrated beer: Guinness. I know it's 'hip' but there's so many better stouts that don't taste like a log from a fire. Murphy's Irish Stout and Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout are far better tasting and more drinkable.

Do they still make PBRs??

on a different note, one of our techs was working in Almaty and was drinking the local beer with some of the guys he was working with there on the last day of the project to celebrate a job well done. The next day he was flying out and said he had the worst hangover he ever had. He also had to fly in a middle isle seat and was very sick most of the way home. He didnt remember the name of the beer.

Samuel Smiths is #######, plain and simple. Sorry. Nobody outside of a small Area in Yorkshire has ever heard of Samuel Smiths in the UK, and those people in Yorkshire only drink it because its cheap. You might like it but that's because you're deluded. ;)

Your issue with Guinness is one that is common, and its not Guinness's fault. Guinness is the most consistently bad pint you can get in the USA. Seriously, very few places do it justice. Murphys seems to be a bit more robust (i.e. less prone to being ruined by bad pumps/cellars/barmen/old barrels), so is often better, but when you get a proper pint of Guinness its better than Murphys IMHO. There's just very few places in the USA where you can get a decent pint of Guinness, even Irish pubs.

Do they still make PBRs??

I was drinking a bottle of it the other day at a BBQ. Not my choice I hasten to add! :)

You are wrong - there are pubs owned by Samuel Smiths around London. I have sought them out on many occasions because they are the only pubs I know of in town that aren't whetherspoons that serve a pint costing less than 2 squids!

They must be using their profits from sales in the US to spread their evil liquid around the UK then. Blurgghhh!!!!

I personally have never witnessed a Samuel Smiths pub, but a look around the web shows that yes, there do seem to be a lot in London as well.

London always was a ###### place for beer though. ;)
