Well, you're very much due for a tetanus. Possibly an MMR (my husband's GP gave him both doses even though he had a history of mumps as an early adult). And as for flu it will depend on if your Knightsbridge appointment happens before or after March 31.

If you have paperwork proof of a vax, I'm sure Knightsbridge will accept it. :)

I think you'll only need the flu shot. I believe the tetanus vaccine is good for 10yrs and you got it in 2011 so it's still technically in date. If you opt to get either of these done at the medical its £14 for the flu shot and £40 for tetanus (That's what I paid 22/02). My vaccination record was pretty much the same as yours but the tetanus booster was out of date so and I needed both.

Technically its good for 10 years but you can update it soonet, otherwise youll be getting one in the usa in 2 years anyhow.

MMR should be a 2 dose shot as a child but it looks like the booster was done years after.  (Trying to figure out the OPs age... i think born 1995?) So it wouldnt hurt to get the booster especially considering local  outbreaks.  Rubella immunity is important if you are thinking of having children.

True on the tetanus but he will have probably went through AOS by the time it expires at least so it isn't necessary for this process. There's 2 MMR shots on the record so I wouldn't rush to get any more. The second shot is usually given between ages 4-6 and the first between 12-16 months it says online. My records were similar to the ones posted and they signed it off.

I had 2 and managed to not have immunity to measles before immigrating.  Personally i think if you can get them for free vs paying you should. But just my opinion, worth as much as the paper it's written on.

The adult shots are MMR, Tdap or Td, Flu, Varicella

You're done with MMR. Two in your lifetime.

Varicella gets waived when you tell them you had chickenpox. They take your word.

Flu you need one until March 31. After that it is waived for "not flu season".

Td Tetanus/Diptheria has to be dated within the last 10 years. Your last one was Dec 16 2011 so you are good on that if your medical is before Dec 2021. I think it will be. 😂

Looks like all you need is a flu jab and NHS probably wouldn't give you one anyway unless you were a child or elderly because that's their guidelines. Go to Boots or a clinic some stores like Tesco and Sainsbury's have. Take dated proof/receipt along with your other sheet.

Wuozopoo am I correct in thinking my 35 year old fiance wont need to get Hep A or B at a civil surgeon before AOS? I was thinking before this was a MUST vac but now I'm not so sure.  This was the only thing he couldn't hunt down in the UK before Knightsbridge.

There are only four shots an adult needs to prove prior to AOS.  The rest are not age appropriate. You don't have to do the whole list or make up for all the childhood shots missed. Varicella is waived if you had chickenpox which most in the UK have had because they don't immunize for it.

Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:

  1. Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. If you have a record of receiving pertussis, then the Td is okay for the booster.
  2. MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella.  It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical.
  3. Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK . A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. They will also waive the shot in the UK for "not routinely available". That works for spouse visas but not fiancés who could get the shot after POE and go to a civil surgeon to sign off.
  4. Influenza - Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31.  If your medical is not during flu season, you don't need it. It is waived.

This forum has been hand down the best resource I have found for this process. We were thinking that we would have to shell out a small fortune for Hep A and B here in the states. I thank you for your answer :)

Hi guys, I moved to the UK when I was 4 so had all my baby and toddler vaccinations in my country of birth. I got boosters for all of them again while in UK but only have a card with the info. Would that be enough info for my medical?

Does he have those four shots listed on his form from Knightsbridge? Or Varicella History ticked to get that waiver?

You need something that shows the needed shots and dates given  that are explained in detail in my post above. They won't take your word that you "had all your babay shots".

Hmm, what if I don't have it? They're from ages ago and my mum cannot find the foreign copy of my vaccination record in which my baby shots were recorded.
