Hello,

I know I'm a little ahead of myself since I'm still waiting for my NOA2 but I would love to attend my fiance's interview for our k1 visa in London. How long do you have to schedule the interview after getting a case number from the NVC? Thank you!

Hello,

So we got our NOA2 November 28th, we called NVC on 8th January and they had our case.

The medicals do change but when I called I had gave myself a 4 week gap from booking to attending on the 8th Feb (there were appointments available).

We waited to book our interview, but generally speaking you want to leave 2 clean weeks from Medical to Interview to be on the safe side, as I'm aware you may have some queries regarding criminal record :D There's often a lot of appointments available and in the middle of the month, you can often see the following month to book :) I think for the USC to attend, your fiancée would have to email, I wouldn't be sure.

Summary:

Filed I129f: 06/09/2018

I attended my wife's visa interview in Brazil.  I didn't have to notify the embassy because on their website, they state that they encourage the USC to attend.  It's not required, but it does make it look more legit of a relationship, showing the embassy how much YOU care about your fiance receiving the visa.  Do go!

For the interview, we scheduled it 2 months after we received the NVC.  That gave us some leeway for my wife to attend her medical, and getting other paperwork in order, like police records and such.     Hope this helps..

Yes! Thank you! I know the Embassy in London allows the fiance to attend so I'm hoping I have enough time before scheduling to book flight, hotel room, plus give enough notice to my work!

Always allow some good time between things.  Less stress= less worry  :)Plus, it will give you and fiance more time to enjoy England one more time before he makes the big trip to the states!  Best of luck for everything!

No one asked "Are  you wanting to attend the interview in the embassy?"

some embassies do not allow the USC  in  and the UK people should inform you if that is what you need to know also

You have all the time you need. The ball is in your court once the case gets to the London part since your fiancé can pick his own timeline. He can do the medical and interview in April...May...June...July, whatever fits your schedule.

London is not going to question the legitimacy of your relationship so being there won't make a difference, but you probably want to be there so you can hear the convictions discussion. It's a pretty quick process where he stands at a counter like at a bank except the officer Is behind glass.
