Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let everyone know that we received our number from the NVC today. I called and talked to a live person and they asked for the usual USCIS number and birthday of the beneficiary etc etc.. and then the man asks me "is your phone number xxx-xxxx" and rattles off my phone number! I was so excited because I knew I was in the system even before he finished! :dance: He proceeded to give me our new case number and then told me that it would be processed and forwarded to the embassy in 1 -2 weeks. He made a point to say it would be 1 - 2 weeks before it was forwarded, and not 1 - 2 weeks before they receive it. I suppose the two weeks might be a generic number that they throw out to all inquiries but it sounded good to me. Anyway, he said they would be mailing us a confirmation of receipt yada yada yada...

Well, suffice to say we are really excited. I would rather see small progress often more often than nothing but a black hole for so long like USCIS. I realize that all the little processes will add up but at least we can sleep at night knowing something is happening.

07/19/07: Case Touched... Just found out how to check for touches and it was touched today! (I did call yesterday so maybe that had something to do with it. No telling now if it had been touched prior.)

04/01/08: Interview date - Approved for our K3/K4 Visas!!

04/18/08 - 05/07/08: Our one year Aniversary vacation together. :-)

06/23/08: Entered USA - After selling home, quiting job etc etc etc

Congrats Puerco. The normal time at NVC is four days. Then it depends upon how soon DHL makes a pickup before your petition reaches Embassy. Normally 3 to 6 days after DHL pickup anfd however long it takes for Embassy to receive (log it in) it.

3/27/14 - N400 package delivered

4/3/14 - NOA1 receipt date

4/4/14 - check cashed

04/29/14 - biometrics date

07/01/14 - interview date

That's great news Puerco. I'm glad to hear you're out of the "black hole" finally. NVC with DHL is much faster :) Hang in there, once the embassy gets it, there should be a short wait and you can celebrate again with your interview and medical scheduling. :D Good luck! :thumbs:

Congratulations Puerco! Your petitions were approved the day before mine, so I wonder if that means that mine may be at NVC as well. I tried to call just now, but it keeps transferring me back to the menu stating that all their operators are busy with other customers. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it that hard to get through to a live person? Is there another way of checking if your petition is at NVC and getting your number other than talking with a live person?

Deb. Hi ...When i was checking NVC for our case I called very early in the morning,just as they open you will be connected to a live person more easily. I talked to someone right away. also u can call late evening , the call volume is much less at these times :thumbs:

Thanks K&L! I called this morning and our petition is not there as of yet. The lady told me to give it at least two weeks to get there. When I told her it was two weeks today, then she said, "Oh, give it 2-4 weeks." LOL, they always try to cover their butts!

This is interesting. Exactly the same thing happened to me. Got a touch on the 21st (guess someone was working on a holiday) and another one today (23rd).

I know I shouldn't get excited or anything... but hey, after 7 months of absolutely nothing happening this is exciting.

Thanks for the reply, we called misinformation line on 14 Jan 2008 they sayed to wait as there system is not updated yet :lol: is this the same country that send a man to Moon :lol: , after we get the NOA2; they send me a packeg and in it are the instructions on what to do next; Right?. what was your waiting time at the embessy in London( 1 Billion weeks..) :blink:

My journey has been like this since approval:

* Once it was approved, it took 3 weeks for CSC to mail the petition to the National Visa Centre.

* Once at the NVC, it was there less than a week before being sent to the embassy.

* A couple of weeks after that I received the packet 3 from the London embassy.

* Sent all the required forms back to them within a week of receiving it.

* Interview date is almost 2 months from the date they received all the paperwork back.

Once you're out of USCISs clutches, it really is a much much smoother journey :) 2-3 months is the average waiting time for an interview in London though :)

they are still at their vacation :crying: :crying: got transferred to an Officer yesterday, and she said I wasn't out of processing times yet.. she asked me "who told you this?".. I said "all the customer service people I talked with".. she said they are still working on June 18 (yeah, right) apps, and mine is still good... so she told me to call back after 30 days.. I set up another meeting at my local office for February 7.. this is getting way out of hand.. After 30 days, I'm going to yell and scream at them.. Actually, I called 3 times yesterday, and did get mad at the 2nd person (she started to read to me on "there are different factors that may affect your case...".. I told her "quit reading her thing and that it is retarded".. I guess she didn't like that.. whistling.gif then she started getting mad.. and then I did.. I said "what kind of bullshit is this? Why the #### are you getting mad at me for? It's not my fault you guys are slow"... then she started to cool down again..
