Travelling with temp I-551 while I-751 is pending

I tried to renewed my greencard over a year ago and still haven't got it, I've had a few letters extending my greencard, but I think the latest one is soon to expire and I plan on travelling internationally while this happens.

 

I went to the USCIS office and got a temp stamp I-551 extended for a year, which is still valid for another 6 months, can I fly with this in my passport and my expired greencard?

Yes and take the extension letter too.

An extension letter or stamp.  An expired green card with nothing else won’t get you far.

The stamp acts like a green card. As long as it's not expired you can travel with it.

I will travel with my expired green card but also my passport with upto date stamp in addition to extension letter that is out of date. between all of these, I should be good, right?

In reality you should be fine with the valid I551 stamp only, but I agree, take everything else as well just in case.  Often times USCIS takes the expired GC when they issue the stamp, but I understand this is not always the case.  My wife had her card taken when she got her stamp.
